Day 1: Arrive Jacksonville
For guests spending the previous night on Jekyll Island (which we highly recommend), a transfer from Jacksonville International Airport to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel is included. Join us for a welcome cocktail reception followed by dinner at your leisure.

Day 2: St. Simons Island / Savannah Traditions
Tour Jekyll Island’s 240-acre historic district by tram car, visiting Faith Chapel and Rockefeller’s Indian Mound; drive to nearby St. Simons Island, and continue to Savannah where your hotel, Hyatt Regency Savannah, overlooks the waterfront and is close to River Front Plaza. Tonight, discover Savannah’s Madeira traditions at the Davenport House Museum, and dine in the historic district at 45 Bistro in Savannah’s oldest hotel, The Marshall House.

Day 3: Discover Historic Savannah
A private tour of the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace precedes a visit to the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, chronicling the great Atlantic trading era. Sightsee Savannah, home to America’s largest landmark district (over 1,000 restored buildings) with a local expert, then spend the afternoon and evening as you please.

Day 4: Fort Pulaski and on to Hilton Head Island
Visit Fort Pulaski National Monument, where military history was forever changed during a Civil War battle. Spend the night on Hilton Head Island; Hilton Oceanfront Resort is right on the seafront. Following dinner at your resort, you’ll go on a journey through the roots of Gullah culture, from Africa to the Carolina coast, with folktales by master storyteller Aunt Pearlie Sue; her warmth, humor and exuberance will be long remembered.

Day 5: Beaufort and a Charleston Harbor Cruise
You’ll have time for an early morning walk on Hilton Head’s beautiful beaches before heading to Beaufort; explore this charming town’s National Historic Landmark District. Continue to Charleston for a private harbor cruise that reveals centuries of maritime history. Dine tonight at a choice of fine Charleston eateries.

Day 6: Explore Beautiful Charleston
One of America’s most important seaports, Charleston brims with history. A local guide takes you along cobblestone streets by the harbor, past walled gardens where fragrant jasmine and wisteria fill the air; see the famed military school, The Citadel, and the Battery. Spend the rest of the day as you please; Charleston is a great city to explore, whether on foot or by horse-drawn carriage!

Day 7: Carolina Plantations
A privately guided visit at 18th-century plantation Drayton Hall takes in three centuries... and you’ll walk through America’s oldest landscaped gardens at 18th-century Middleton Place – tour the mansion and visit the plantation stable yards. Join us for a farewell cocktail reception and dinner at your historic hotel.

Day 8: Journey Home
