Day 1: Welcome to Boston
A transfer is included from Boston's Logan International Airport to the Omni Parker House. We invite you to meet the fellow travelers with whom you will share this delightful exploration of New England at a welcome cocktail reception and dinner this evening.

Day 2: The Cradle of American Liberty
American finds its roots in beautiful Boston. Explore the rich history of the area as you view some of its most famous sites, such as Faneuil Hall, the South Meeting House, and the Old State House. Cross the Charles River to see one of America's oldest and most venerable institutions of higher learning on a walking tour of Harvard University in Cambridge. Return to Boston for a visit to Old North Church and time to explore on your own; your landmark hotel is in the heart of this venerable "city upon the hill."

Day 3: Revolutionary sights in Lexington & Concord
Follow the route of Paul Revere's ride through Lexington and Concord to warn the citizenry that the British were coming as you visit these historic Massachusetts towns. Then travel to Salem; although it may be best known for its infamous witches, the town's Federal-era townhouses and beautifully preserved pre-1900 residences are impressive. Continue along the Atlantic coast to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, first settled by Europeans in the 17th century; get a taste of New Hampshire's role in national politics at a Town Hall Meeting hosted by a local expert tonight.

Day 4: From the sea to the mountains
On the rugged coast of Maine, take a scenic and educational cruise aboard a lobster boat* for an insider's view of the life of Maine lobstermen, followed by a guided interpretive walking tour offering an insider's view of Portland's Old Port. Climb into New Hampshire’s scenic White Mountains, where you'll enjoy a most interesting lecture on the seasonal ecology of northern New England’s North Woods this evening.

Day 5: White and Green Mountain magic
Exploring the splendor of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the beauty of Franconia Notch, and Vermont's famous Green Mountains is a must-do on New England tours; you'll enjoy all today, Tauck Style. Then pay a visit to another of America's oldest and most respected institutions of higher learning, Dartmouth College, in Hanover, NH, and enjoy an à la carte lunch at the historic Hanover Inn before continuing on to riverside Quichee and the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences. Your final destination is Plymouth, Vermont, for a two-night stay in the heart of the Green Mountains; a "Taste of Vermont" reception featuring locally produced wine and cheese precedes dinner at your leisure this evening.

Day 6: Woodstock farms and Calvin Coolidge
With its quaint covered bridge, Woodstock is a quintessential Vermont village; a tour of Billings Farm and Museum provides insights into life in rural Vermont, past and present. In Plymouth, visit the birthplace of President Calvin Coolidge and historic buildings constructed by his father. Join us for an optional nature walk this afternoon, or enjoy your resort as you please.

Day 7: The beautiful Berkshires and Norman Rockwell
Scenic country roads lead to Stockbridge, Massachusetts, for an in-depth look at the life and immense talent of beloved illustrator Norman Rockwell – and many of his original works, including famous Saturday Evening Post covers – at the Norman Rockwell Museum. You'll discover for yourself why the Berkshire Hills provide such inspiration to artists and writers as you continue on through their rolling landscapes to Pittsfield for a one-night stay. Tonight, join us for a farewell reception and dinner to cap your memorable New England journey.

Day 8: Journey home
Return to Boston today via the Connecticut River’s scenic Pioneer Valley (a journey of approx. 160 miles), including a stop in historic Deerfield. This most enjoyable of New England tours ends: approximately 3:00 PM at Boston's Logan Airport, or 4:00 PM at the Omni Parker House. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey home. Allow at least two hours for airport check-in.
