Day 2: Giza: The Pyramids, Sphinx & Solar BoatAt Giza, the Sphinx sits near the Great Pyramid; after meeting our Egyptologist, you’ll see them both today... plus have your photo taken atop a camel* at the Pyramids! Check out a remarkably preserved cedarwood boat at the Solar Boat Museum. Join us for a welcome reception followed by dinner tonight.

Day 3: Special Egyptian Museum Visit in CairoGain insights on a changing Egypt from a local expert, then see artifacts illustrating 5,000 years of history on a special early-opening guided visit to Cairo’s Egyptian Museum with our Egyptologist. Walk through Old Cairo with a local guide; visit a mosque and explore the bazaar. Tonight’s sound and light show, set against the Pyramids and the Sphinx, is dazzling!

Day 4: Memphis, Sakkara and DahshurTake a good look at some of Egypt’s oldest antiquities on an excursion from Cairo to ancient Memphis, the first capital of Egypt’s “Old Kingdom”; see the statue of Ramesses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. Learn how ancient pyramid design developed over the centuries when you view the early Step Pyramid of Djoser and visit the mound-like Pyramid of Teti in Sakkara, and tour the royal tombs of the necropolis of Dahshur.

Day 5: Abu Simbel and the Sahara / Embark Nile AdventurerFly via private charter to Abu Simbel, where the gigantic temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari dwarf you. Travel through the Sahara to Aswan for a look at the Aswan High Dam; board the Nile Adventurer for your three-night Nile cruise. Ride a private boat to see the Philae Temple; return for welcome cocktails hosted by the Captain, followed by dinner.

Day 6: Cruise the Nile to Kom Ombo & EdfuSail to Kom Ombo to visit its double temple, and have tea at a replica of a Nubian village. Don traditional garb for a special Egyptian Night dinner followed by music and dancing tonight.

Day 7: Luxor's Temples, a Carriage Ride and MoreSite of ancient Thebes, Luxor is an incredible “open-air museum”; your Egyptologist leads visits to the Temple of Karnak and the Luxor Museum. A private horse-drawn carriage whisks you to tour the lit-up Temple of Luxor; enjoy farewell cocktails, dinner and a show during your final night aboard Nile Adventurer.

Day 8: In the Valleys of the Kings & QueensFollowing an optional morning hot air balloon flight (an additional $175), disembark in Luxor. Day 10: Incredible Petra & a Bedouin RestorationA passage through a narrow canyon, the Siq leads to yet another breathtaking moment – your first glimpse of the ancient Nabataean city of Petra, carved out of the sandstone cliffs around 6 BC. Explore the site on foot and via horse cart, including the towering Khazneh (Treasury), the Royal Tombs, an amphitheatre that once seated 8,000, and numerous temples and tombs. Have dinner this evening at Taybet Zaman, a restored hilltop Bedouin village.

Day 11: Along the Jordan to the Dead SeaThousands of years of biblical history reveal themselves along the Kings’ Highway at sites on the east bank of the River Jordan including Mt.
