Day 2: Santiago and Chilean Wine Country
On a clear day, the soaring peaks of the snow-capped Andes Mountains provide an incomparable setting for your city sightseeing excursion which begins with a visit to the grand Plaza de Armas and the Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco – the church and monastery reflect the city’s colonial past. Change your perspective on a funicular ride up Cerro San Cristóbal Hill, where panoramic views await. A special gourmet wine-pairing lunch invites you to drink in the bounty of the vine at a local winery in the countryside. Day 3: Charms of Patagonia

Day 4: Lake Cruise and Wilderness Adventure

Day 5: Crossing the Andes to Argentina

Boat cruises today take you across Lago Frias and Lago Todos Los Santos – watch for Andean?condors soaring among the mountain peaks above you. Day 6: Llao Llao Resort at Leisure

Day 7: Fly to Buenos Aires

Freshen up for an unforgettable dinner with entertainment at Rojo Tango, renowned for its passionate tango performances.

Day 10: Boca and Thundering Iguazú

Day 11: Explore Iguazú National Park
Discover the sights in Iguazú National Park, a World Heritage Site that is home to many rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. The clouds of spray produced by the waterfall are conducive to the growth of lush vegetation here. Join us for a guided look at Superior and Inferior Circuit and Devil’s Throat, before exploring on your own. Optional boat rides, hikes or helicopter tours are available at an additional charge.

Day 12: The Brazilian Side of the Falls
The best place to experience a panoramic view of the 275 cascades that form the mile-and-a-half Iguazú Falls is on the Brazilian side; cross over the Tancredo Neves Bridge into Brazil and take an unforgettable rainforest walk at the base of the falls. After lunch overlooking the river, fly to Rio de Janeiro for a two-night stay in a ideally located hotel overlooking Copacabana Beach; your room welcomes with ocean views.

Day 13: Rio, Brazil’s “Carnaval” Capital
Wake up in Rio and set off by coach and rail to the summit of Corcovado, where the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer presides over truly inspiring views of the city and sea. The train takes you to Tijuca National Park en route to your hilltop destination, alive with local flora and fauna. Return to Rio for a tour of the historic downtown and enjoy a traditional Brazilian lunch. Rio’s zest for life is reflected in its passion for Carnaval, which has defined this pleasure-loving city for decades; join a local guide for a behind-the-scenes look at this festive annual celebration at Samba City. Day 14: Journey Home
Tour ends: Rio de Janeiro. Fly home anytime. A transfer is included from the JW Marriott Hotel Rio de Janeiro to Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Check-out time is 12:00 noon. We have reserved a hospitality room for the use of Tauck guests whose flights are later in the day. Allow a minimum of 3½ hours for flight check-in.
