Day 1: Arrive Stockholm
A transfer is included from Arlanda Airport to the Radisson Blu Waterfront. Meet your fellow travelers at tonight’s welcome cocktail reception and dinner.

Day 2: All About Stockholm
Stockholm was selected as the first “European Green Capital” in 2010; city sightseeing with a local guide includes the Stockholm City Hall and a walking tour of Gamla Stan (Old Town), where the Royal Palace and other sites reveal centuries of Swedish history and culture. Spend the rest of the day as you please.

Day 3: Vasa Museum / Embark Le Boreal
Discover Stockholm’s intriguing islands – the city sits astride 14 islands on Lake Mälaren – on a cruise along the city’s canals. Explore the Vasamuseet (Vasa Museum) home to the ornate royal warship Vasa, the world’s oldest complete and identified ship, dating back to the 17th century. Embark Le Boreal this afternoon for the start of your Baltic Sea cruise.

Day 4: Helsinki, City by the Sea
Dock in Helsinki, Finland today, set on a peninsula surrounded by hundreds of islands. Your guided shore excursion includes the Sibelius Monument, Market Square and Temppeliaukio (“Rock”) Church, hewn from solid granite bedrock. Drive by Finlandia Hall, designed by famed Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, en route back to your ship. Le Boreal sets sail for Russia late this afternoon for tomorrow’s arrival in St. Petersburg.

Day 5: Cultural Treasures of St. Petersburg
Arrive in St. Petersburg, where Le Boreal docks for two nights. Join us for a city tour including 18th-century Peter and Paul Fortress and the golden-spired Cathedral, imperial burial ground of the Romanov Dynasty. The day includes a stop at the Church of our Savior on Spilled Blood, and a vodka tasting at a local restaurant; shuttle service brings you back to the pier. A pre-theatre dinner aboard Le Boreal precedes a night of cultural entertainment at a royal palace featuring champagne, opera and Russian ballet!

Day 6: The State Hermitage Museum
Tauck’s privately guided excursions today take you inside St. Petersburg’s most revered sights at the best times to see them to allow for more leisurely exploration. Depart for Palace Square and a visit to The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg; its vast collections reflect the development of art and world cultures from the Stone Age through the 21st century, and rank among the world’s finest. After lunch, enjoy the rest of the afternoon free in St. Petersburg before returning to Le Boreal for dinner.

Day 7: Catherine Palace (The Summer Palace)
Head to Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo), stopping en route to see the Victory Monument, dedicated to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad. In Pushkin, tour stunning Catherine Palace (The Summer Palace), begun in 1717 and expanded in later years in the Baroque style. Its striking blue and white façade and lush gardens hint at the grandeur inside. View the palace’s interiors, including the meticulously restored Amber Room, the original of which, an 11-foot-square hall walled with amber, gilded mirrors and a mosaic of semiprecious stones, vanished in the wake of World War II. Lunch in a local restaurant showcases Russian folkloric entertainment.

Day 8: Ancient Tallinn, Estonia
Your ship docks in Tallinn today, the capital city of Estonia and one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. Discover the sights up close on a walking tour with a local guide to its historic walled center. See St. Nicholas Church and 13th-century Toompea Castle, now the Parliament House, and walk through the main Market Square. A shuttle is available to take you back to the ship throughout the day; late afternoon, chart a course to Riga, Latvia.

Day 9: Riga, A Mix of Old and New
Go ashore in fairy-tale Riga for a look at its history, past and present. Drive through New Town along a parade of Art Nouveau buildings, much of it the creation of Latvian architect Mikhail Eisenstein, and explore Riga Market. Old Town beckons with historic treasures that earned it designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk with us to Riga Castle, dating back to 1330 and today the official residence of the president of Latvia. See the 17th-century Swedish Gate, St. Peter’s Church, the medieval Three Brothers dwelling houses, and Herder Square. Return to Le Boreal for dinner and an evening cruising the Baltic Sea.

Day 10: Cruising the Baltic Sea

Day 11: Disembark in Copenhagen
Disembark ship in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a two-night stay. A sightseeing tour includes Rosenborg Palace, where the Crown Jewels and the Danish Crown Regalia reside, and the colorful 17th-century waterfront district of Nyhavn. Your landmark hotel is close to Tivoli Gardens and the fashionable Strøget.

Day 12: Roskilde and the Viking Ship Museum
Travel to Roskilde for a tour of the Viking Ship Museum, a museum that is focused on ships, seafaring and boatbuilding culture in ancient and medieval times. Have lunch at a local restaurant, then it’s back to Copenhagen, where you’ll spend some afternoon free time before tonight’s farewell dinner.

Day 13: Journey Home
